Uses:
Hydrazide-PEG-hydrazide can be used to modify carbohydrates, proteins, peptides, particles and other materials by its hydrazide group. Hydrazide can react with ketone or aldehyde to form a acylhydrazone linkage, which is pH sensitive and can be used for reversible PEGylation. Hydraizde PEG is also used to PEGylate carboxyl, activated carboxylic acid such as succinimidyl NHS ester. PEGylation can increase solubility and stability and reduce the immunogenicity of peptides and proteins. It can also suppress the non-specific binding of charged molecules to the modified surfaces. This material has a wide range of applications in medical device modification, biomolecular pegylation, and particle surface functionalization.
Note: Biopharma PEG has successfully obtained the US FDA DMF filing for HZ-PEG-HZ 1K, filing number: 041864.
Applications:
• Protein PEGylation: Enables site-specific PEGylation to improve protein stability, solubility, and half-life.
• Targeted Drug Delivery: Forms pH-sensitive hydrazone bonds for controlled drug release in acidic environments (e.g., tumors).
• Bioconjugation & Crosslinking: Serves as a linker for attaching biomolecules or creating antibody-drug conjugates.
• Nanoparticle & Surface Modification: Improves surface biocompatibility and reduces non-specific binding in nanotech and materials research.
