MAL-PEG3-COOH (also known as Mal-PEG3-acid, CAS: 518044-40-1) is a PEG linker with a maleimide group at one end and a terminal carboxylic acid group at the other. The hydrophilic PEG spacer enhances its solubility in aqueous environments. The maleimide group can react with thiol groups to form stable covalent bonds, enabling the linkage of biomolecules containing thiols. Additionally, the carboxylic acid group can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (such as EDC or HATU), facilitating the formation of a stable amide bond for efficient bioconjugation.
