mPEG-Acrylate is a linear monofunctional PEG reagent that features an acrylate (AC) group, which is useful for radical initiator or UV light-induced polymerization. This makes it particularly valuable in the preparation of PEG hydrogels. The acrylate group readily reacts with thiols through a thiol-ene reaction, facilitating the formation of covalent bonds under mild conditions.
