DPPE-PEG-Mal is a linear heterobifunctional phospholipid-PEG derivative. It features twin C16:0 saturated palmitoyl lipid tails (DPPE) for membrane anchoring, a hydrophilic PEG spacer for stealth stabilization, and a highly selective maleimide (Mal) group for thiol-reactive bioconjugation, making DPPE-PEG-Mal useful for bioconjugation and surface functionalization of liposomes and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs).
