PEGs by Application

PEG linkers, also known as PEG reagents, are are highly valued for conjugation and biolabeling applications due to their water solubility, lack of toxicity, and low immunogenicity.  There are two classes of PEG linkers: monodispersed and polydispersed. Monodispersed PEG, or discrete PEG, consists of an exact number of PEG units with a specific single chemical structure and precise molecular weight. In contrast, polydispersed PEG is a polymer mixture with an average molecular weight.

PEG linkers have found extensive use in pharmacological and biotechnological research and development.

▶ They are integral to the creation of PEGylated protein and peptide drugs, as well as small molecule drugs.
▶ Additionally, they play a crucial role in the development of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and PROTAC (Proteolysis Targeting Chimera) linkers.
▶ In the field of drug delivery, PEG linkers are employed in nanoparticle-based systems to improve the delivery and efficacy of therapeutic agents. This includes gene-drug delivery systems such as siRNA and mRNA, where PEG linkers enhance stability and bioavailability.
▶ Furthermore, PEG linkers are used in the development of hydrogel-based devices, which are applied in various medical and therapeutic contexts, including tissue engineering and sustained drug release systems.

Overall, the versatility and beneficial properties of PEG linkers make them indispensable tools in advancing modern medical and biotechnological innovations. Learn more about PEG Linkers & Their Applications
