mPEG-DMG is an amphiphilic polymer formed by the covalent coupling of 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycerol (DMG) and methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG).

It is a critical component in Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) used for mRNA delivery. According to public information, mPEG-DMG (PEG 2000 DMG) is one of the excipients of the COVID-19 vaccine, which can help reduce antibody association (opsonization) by serum proteins and clearance by phagocytes thus conferring longer systemic circulation.

In addition, mPEG-DMG is commonly used in the delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics such as siRNA, plasmid DNA, miRNA, and CRISPR-Cas9, and it can also be used to modify conventional liposomes to improve pharmacokinetic performance.

Biopharma PEG offers a wide range of PEG Lipids from lab to commercial scale in both non-GMP and GMP grades. Email at [email protected] and start using a superior product for your next product R&D project.
