DSPE-PEG-c(RGDyK) is a targeted lipid-PEG conjugate combining 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DSPE) with a PEG linker and a cyclic RGD (c(RGDyK)) peptide. The DSPE moiety anchors into lipid membranes, while the PEG chain provides steric stabilization and “stealth” properties. The c(RGDyK) peptide targets integrin receptors (e.g. α_vβ_3) overexpressed in tumor angiogenesis, enabling active targeting of drug carriers such as liposomes, nanoparticles, or micelles. This functional lipid is widely used in targeted drug delivery, tumor imaging, and ligand-decorated nanocarrier systems.
