DSPE-PEG-Galactose is a phospholipid PEG derivative with a D-galactose group that self-assembles in aqueous solution to form lipid bilayers. The polymer can be used for the preparation of liposomes as carriers for drug delivery or nutrients, such as mRNA vaccines. d-Galactose increases solubility in aqueous media and increases the selectivity of PEGylation reactions.
